If your child's fifth birthday is between 1 September 2027 and 31 August 2028, you should apply for a place at a first, infant or primary school

 

• Applications open on 1 November 2026.
• You should apply through the home local authority where your child lives.
• Applications close on national closing date, 15 January 2027.
• Parents get their offer on National Offer Day – 16 April 2027.

Subject: Consultation on Proposed Admission Arrangements for 2028/2029

The Fierte Academy Trust is consulting on the proposed admission arrangements for Wilnecote Junior Academy for the 2028/2029 academic year.

In accordance with the School Admissions Code, Wilnecote Junior Academy wishes to hear your views on its proposed changes to the admission arrangements for September 2028.

The proposed change is to reduce the school's Published Admission Number (PAN) from 90 to 60 places. No other changes are proposed to the admission criteria.

This proposal reflects the declining number of pupils transferring from Heathfields Infant Academy, wider demographic trends including falling birth rates, and the need to ensure that admission arrangements remain aligned with local demand. The proposed reduction will also support the efficient use of resources and help maintain sustainable staffing arrangements while continuing to provide a high-quality education for all pupils.

We value your views and welcome any comments on the proposed arrangements before they are formally determined.

The consultation period will close at 5:00pm on Friday 23 October 2026.

Following the consultation, the Trust Board will consider all comments received before making a final decision on the admission arrangements.

The determined admission arrangements will be published by 23 November 2026, with a copy available on the school website by 4 December 2026.
