Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome Back!
I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable Easter break, with time to relax, recharge, and make special memories with family and friends. It has been lovely to welcome the children back into school and to see the classrooms filled once again with smiles, enthusiasm, and a genuine eagerness to learn.
This half-term promises to be a busy and exciting one, with lots of learning opportunities, events, and celebrations ahead. Our pupils have returned ready to shine, and we are very much looking forward to seeing the progress they will make over the coming weeks.
Summer Term Reminder
As we approach the Summer Term, we kindly ask for your support in helping children stay healthy and comfortable during the warmer weather.
Water Bottles
Please ensure that your child brings a filled water bottle to school every day. Staying hydrated is especially important as temperatures rise, and having easy access to water helps children keep focused and energised throughout the day.
Sun Protection
On sunny days, please send your child to school wearing sun cream. If they may need to reapply it during the school day, you are welcome to provide a labelled bottle of sun cream for them to use. Please note that children must be able to apply their own sun cream.
Thank you for your continued support in keeping our pupils safe and comfortable this term.
Are you switched on to your child’s online privacy?
At Wilnecote Junior Academy, we teach children about staying safe online as part of our curriculum. But online safety doesn’t stop at the school gate. If you’re a parent or carer of a child aged 4-11, there’s a new campaign that could make a real difference to their safety online.
Every time children use apps, games or websites, information is collected about them - often without them realising. This can include their location, habits and even their mood.
The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has launched a free campaign called Switched on to privacy to help parents and carers of children aged 4–11 start these conversations. It’s built around three simple steps:
- Chat with your child about online privacy.
- Choose actively what personal information to share.
- Check the settings whenever your child uses a new device or app.
Just like we teach children to cross the road safely, we can help them build smart habits online. Small conversations now can make a big difference as your child grows up.

Parking Reminder for Parents and Carers
To help keep our children safe and to ensure the smooth running of drop-off and pick-up times, we kindly remind all parents and carers to park safely and responsibly around the school site. Please support us by following the guidance below:
- Avoid parking on yellow zig-zag lines or in any restricted areas.
- Do not park across or block local residents’ driveways, even for a short time.
- Keep pedestrian crossings and footpaths clear at all times to support safe access.
- Use designated parking areas wherever possible, and avoid stopping in the middle of the road.
- Drive slowly and stay highly alert, especially during busy periods when children may be harder to see.
- Only use the staff car park with prior permission, as this area must remain accessible and safe for those working onsite.
Thank you for your ongoing support in helping us maintain a safe environment for our pupils and a respectful relationship with our neighbours.
