Dear Parents and Carers,
We hope you all enjoyed the snow and had fun as a family playing in the snow. Many children shared they built snowmen and went sledging. We would like to thank our site staff, Mrs Birch and her family for coming to school at the weekend and ensuring that the site was safe for our return on Monday. She had cleared all the snow and ice before the rain fell!
Celebrations
The class with the best attendance last week was Murphy with 100%

Parents evening
Parents evening will take place on Wednesday 11th February and Thursday 12th February. You can sign up for a 10-minute appointment with your children's class teacher via the Arbor app. Please remember if you have more than one child to allow a gap in-between appointments and if you have to travel between the sites, please allow sufficient time. This goes live today at 4.30pm.
Health and Safety
This week, we have practised the emergency procedures of remaining in the classes and being quiet. At Heathfields, we have not used the words lockdown and have shared that at times we need to be in the building as there could be a hazard in the playground, such as a dog in the playground running loose. We were proud of all the staff and children, procedures were followed, and no immediate actions needed to be addressed.
We have also had a fire drill as we need to practise on a more regular basis and ensure that all children and staff are out of the building and accounted for within a three-minute period. We are always way under this time and can once again report that all the children were sensible and back in their classrooms within 5 minutes.

Messages from the PTFA - Volunteer recruitment
We couldn’t run our PTA events without the fantastic support of our school community – thank you!
We’re currently looking for no-commitment volunteers who are happy to help only when they’re able. There’s no regular obligation or long-term role – just occasional help when it suits you.
This might include:
- Running a game/stall at events such as the Summer Fair
- Helping out with setting up events
- Refreshments at discos
- Approaching local companies for raffle prizes or donations
If you’d be happy for us to contact you when help is needed, please leave contact details with either office. We would love to hear from you! It makes a huge difference and helps us continue to fund activities and resources for the children.
Thank you for your support, The PTFA Team
Thank you for your continued support—we’re looking forward to a fantastic term ahead!
Mr Melloy
